Pin and search notes

Pin a note to keep it on top, and search every note on a patient's record.

Tactile editorial artwork for Notes Pin Search

A patient is allergic to adhesive tape, and that line is on a note from two years ago, under forty newer ones. You want it in front of you every time you open the chart, and you want to find the note about the knee without scrolling for it.

Pinned stays on top.

Pinning

Each note on a patient's page has a pin button. Pinning moves it into its own Pinned section above the rest, whenever it was written, and the remaining notes sit under an All notes label. Pinned notes always load in full, so they are there the moment you open the patient. Click the pin again to unpin.

Searching

The Search notes box sits above the list. It matches text anywhere in a note, ignoring capitals, and it asks the server rather than filtering what is on screen, so it reaches notes you have not scrolled to. It looks through pinned and other notes alike, and the results keep the same sections. When nothing matches, the list says so.

The search text is sent to the server in the request body and is never added to the page address, because what you search for inside clinical notes can be patient information.

Long histories

Notes load ten at a time, newest first, with a Load more button under the list. Loading more continues from the oldest note you can see, so pinning or unpinning in between doesn't skip or repeat one. Each note shows who wrote it and when.

Try it in your own practice.
