Fix in a spreadsheet, re-upload

Re-upload an export and Goji updates the matching records instead of creating duplicates.

The quickest way to fix forty records is a spreadsheet, not forty edits.

Matched rows update in place; failures come back to fix.

Matched by id

Say a former front-desk system left forty patients with the wrong cadence or a misspelled name. Use Export your data in Settings, fix those cells in a spreadsheet, and upload the whole file back through the import page. Any row whose id column matches a record already in your practice updates that record in place instead of creating a duplicate. You never type an id; it rides along in the file.

A file without ids, such as one you built from scratch, or one where you leave the id column unmapped, only adds new records and never overwrites anything.

What re-uploading will and won't touch

  • An id that belongs to another practice is left alone rather than overwritten.
  • On patients, custom field values are merged, so a re-import that maps no custom columns will not wipe values staff entered on the patient page.
  • Re-uploading corrected sessions updates the chart's content but never reopens or relabels it, and reuses each row's existing appointment instead of booking a new one.

When a row fails

Rows that can't be imported are not dropped silently. Download error rows (CSV) from the summary: the file has each reason attached and keeps its ids, so you fix those rows and upload it again. Because matching rows update rather than duplicate, repeating the upload is safe. See the CSV import entry for the wizard itself and Export your data for getting the file out.

Try it in your own practice.
