Halfway through a visit you rewrote the pattern and trimmed the note, and an hour later you decide the first version was better. You don't have to retype it. Open the chart, find the save from before the rewrite, and bring it back.
How to restore
Click History in the chart editor, find the row you want, and click Restore this version. There is no confirmation step: the button reads Restoring… for a moment, the drawer closes, and the chart in the editor now shows that version. Every row has the button except the top one, marked Current version, since that is already what you are looking at. Rows are described in session history, including how a long run of plain saves folds into one group you expand first.
It writes forward
Restoring doesn't wind the chart back and cut off what came after. It copies the old save onto the chart as it stands now and adds a new row labelled Restored at the top of the list. The saves you went back over are all still there, so you can restore the one you just left if you change your mind again. The row names who restored it and when, and the restore is also recorded in the practice's access log.
What comes back, and what doesn't
The chart content comes back: points, pulse, tongue, pattern (including the Other box), technique, notes and custom fields. The draft or complete status stays as it is now, so restoring an older draft onto a chart you already marked complete doesn't quietly reopen it. The visit's link to its appointment is untouched as well.
If the row you picked is gone by the time you click, the drawer says That version no longer exists. and nothing changes.
Signed charts, and how this differs from Undo
On a signed chart the drawer still opens, but Restore this version is disabled with a hint to unsign first, and the server refuses a restore too. Signing keeps every earlier save, so after you unsign they are all there to restore.
Undo and redo is the quick way to step back one save at a time. Restore is the one to use when you know which version you want and it is several saves back.
