Turn on a few patient fields, a couple of dates and the last visit, and the patient table is wider than the window. You scroll sideways, lose the names, and spend more time moving the table than reading it. Full screen gives the table the whole window instead.
How it works
The full screen button sits at the end of the search bar on the Patients page. Click it and the table expands in place to fill the window. The header row stays in view as you scroll down, and the table scrolls sideways inside the window when its columns are wider than the screen.
Nothing is reloaded, so you keep your place. The text in the search box, your filters, the patients you have ticked, any open menu and your scroll position are all still there when the table expands and when you come back. The table is the same one, only larger; page size, sorting and the columns you chose in the Columns menu behave as usual (see Patient table basics).
Leaving full screen
Press Esc, or click the button again. If a menu inside the table is open, such as the Columns menu, the first Esc closes that menu and a second one leaves full screen. While the table is full screen the page behind it does not scroll.
Where it shows
The button appears on screens about 1024 pixels wide and up. On a phone or a small tablet it is hidden, since the table already has the whole screen there. It is on the Patients table only.
