A patient wants the first Thursday of next month, and you are looking at today. Stepping there a week at a time takes five clicks. In the mini calendar it is one click on the date.
Where it sits
On a wide screen the mini calendar is at the top of the Calendar's left rail, above the status and other filters. Click any date and the schedule jumps to it in whatever view you are in. Past dates work too, because staff often look back at an earlier day or rebook from it.
What it shows
- Today has its own marking, and the date you are viewing is highlighted.
- In Week and Few Days view the whole span you are looking at is shaded as a band, so you can tell which week is on screen at a glance. Day view highlights the one day.
- Its own arrows beside the month name flip through months without moving the schedule, and a Today button jumps back to the current date.
The arrows next to the date title in the toolbar are separate. They page by the current view's own unit: a day in Day view, a week in Week view, the visible span in Few Days, and a month in Month view.
On a phone the rail does not fit beside the grid. The calendar opens on Month instead, and the mini calendar and filters live behind a Filters button (the phone layout). The Day, Few Days, Week and Month views are described in their own post.
