Start or reschedule from the dashboard

Start a session, open the chart or reschedule straight from Today's schedule.

It is 8:55 and your 9:00 has just walked in. Or your 10:00 texted that they are running an hour late. You are already on the dashboard, looking at Today's schedule, so the next move should not need a trip to the Calendar.

Start, continue or open the chart

Each row on the card has a small row of icon buttons. Their names show when you hover. For a patient with no chart yet, the first one is Start session. Once a draft exists it becomes Continue draft note, with a View details icon beside it. When the chart is complete it becomes View charted session, with an Edit session icon beside it. A superbill icon, Generate superbill, appears once the visit has a chart.

Start, continue, or move it. On the dashboard these are icons; the labels show on hover.

Move it from the row

The Reschedule icon opens the same dialog the Calendar uses, filled in with the appointment's current details. You can change the facility, provider, room (when the service uses rooms), date and time. If the new time clashes with a booked room, you are told and nothing moves. A double-booked provider, or an appointment that starts inside your cancellation window, shows a warning with a Reschedule anyway button, so the choice stays with you. Cancelled and expired rows do not get a Reschedule icon.

Bookings with no patient yet

A visit booked without a patient record, such as an online booking from someone new, has no chart to start. Its row shows Link to patient and Create patient instead, so you can match the person to an existing record or add one without leaving the dashboard.

The card also pages through other days (browse other days), and Today's schedule covers the card itself. Cancelling and booking new visits stay on the full Calendar.

Try it in your own practice.
