A patient asks to move this afternoon's visit, and the front desk says yes before remembering the provider had already held the hour. Most practices have a notice policy. This setting is where Goji learns yours, so a late change gets a second look without anyone having to recite the policy.
Set the window once
Under Settings → Scheduling, in Booking rules, Late change warning takes a number of hours from 0 to 168 and starts at 24. Press Save booking rules. The same number is used everywhere below, so you never keep separate windows for cancelling and moving.
It is a different thing from Minimum notice just above it, which is how soon before a visit a patient may book. The window is measured to the start of the appointment being given up: when you reschedule, that is the old time, not the new one.
What staff see
Cancel an appointment that starts inside the window and a second question appears, Cancel with no advance notice?, naming the patient and time. The choices are Cancel anyway and Keep it. Rescheduling shows the matching warning in the reschedule dialog, with a Reschedule anyway button.
Confirming is always allowed. Goji records who confirmed and when, and the appointment shows a Late notice badge in its detail popover afterward, next to the overlap override badge if it has one. A later reschedule doesn't remove it.
What patients see
If you turn on Patients can cancel online, a linked patient can cancel from the portal only outside the window. Inside it, the cancel dialog says the visit is within your number of hours and asks them to contact the practice, so a last-minute change still reaches a person. The patient cancel option and what happens to anything paid are covered in Prepaid appointments.
When a cancelled visit had been paid for, staff are asked what to do with the payment, and the choice highlighted follows the window: giving it back when the cancel came outside it, keeping it when inside. Both stay one click away.
