You are booking a follow-up at 10:00 and the provider is already with someone. Maybe that is the plan, a needling patient resting while you see another. Maybe it is a slip. Goji can't tell which, so it stops you and asks, and it never double-books by accident.
What you see when a time is taken
When you book from the Calendar or move an appointment with Reschedule, Goji checks the provider's other appointments first. If the new time overlaps one, nothing is saved. You get a warning that says the booking double-books the provider, with how many appointments overlap it and the start and end time of each.
Type a reason if you want one, then choose Book anyway. When you are moving an existing appointment, the button reads Reschedule anyway. Or change the time or provider and the warning goes away. The reason is saved with the appointment.
What stays on the appointment
An appointment booked this way shows an Overlap override badge in its details on the Calendar and in the Today's schedule card on your dashboard. Goji also records who chose to override and when. Two appointments that overlap on purpose sit side by side in the Calendar rather than stacked (Calendar views).
Which overlaps need an override
- A service can be marked to run alongside another overlap-eligible appointment, which is the setting for needling and rest. Two of those can share a provider's time with no warning at all (scheduling setup).
- If either appointment is not overlap-eligible, the warning appears. Held slots count too, not only confirmed appointments.
- Any member of your practice with scheduling access can override, not only the provider whose calendar it is.
- A room can never be double-booked, with or without an override. You get a plain message to pick another room or time.
- Patients booking online can't override anything. For them a taken time is simply not offered (the public booking page).
Your personal calendar is a different check
If a provider has connected Google Calendar, booking can show a separate, advisory warning that the calendar is busy at that time, also with a Book anyway button. It is a different check from this one, and the Google Calendar post covers it.
