Sam only works Tuesdays and Thursdays, but the clinic is open Monday to Friday. If patients could book Sam on a Monday, you would be calling them back. Weekly hours stop that without you managing a schedule for everyone else.
Where to set them
In Settings, under Scheduling, a facility has weekly hours and each provider has their own hours row. Both show a one-line summary first. Click Edit (or Set hours, if none are stored yet) to open the days, tick the ones that apply, set start and end times and choose Save hours.
How the two layers combine
- A provider with no hours of their own follows the facility. The editor shows the facility's hours as Following facility hours, and most practitioners never need to change this.
- Open a provider's hours and save, and from then on they have their own schedule. Public booking offers only the times that fall inside both their hours and the facility's open hours.
- Remove every day from a provider's hours and save to go back to following the facility.
- A provider's hours are set per facility, so someone who works at two locations has a separate row at each.
Weekly hours are required before public booking can offer a time. If a facility has none, the summary says patients cannot book until it does, and a provider following that facility is in the same position. The staff Calendar doesn't need hours, so you can still book any time yourself (scheduling setup).
These are the permanent weekly hours only. A holiday or a single day off is set from the Calendar instead (time off).
