A new patient asks if you have a Thursday opening at the second office, for the long first visit, with the room that has the table. Behind that one question sit four facts: where, what, who, and when. Goji keeps each of them in one place, so the Calendar, the public booking page and the patient portal all answer from the same setup.
You do not start from a blank page. When you create a practice, Goji adds a first facility named after it, open Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:00, plus a 60-minute service called Acupuncture, and makes you bookable there. A banner on your dashboard shows the location, service and duration so you can rename or adjust them on the spot, or dismiss it and keep going.
Settings → Scheduling
Everything lives under Settings → Scheduling. A Setup status panel beside the page tells you whether patients can find open times yet and links to each section: Online booking, Services, Locations and Providers. Each shows a count, such as 2 services or 1 bookable provider. If something is missing, it says what patients still need: at least one service, location and bookable provider.
Facilities, resource types and rooms
A facility is a physical location: a clinic, a home office, a second office across town. Each has its own time zone, chosen from US and Canadian zones, and every appointment there is booked and shown in it. A facility also keeps its own weekly hours and an Address and billing section for the street address, place of service and, only if they differ, billing details (see billing details per location). Its Open to public booking switch keeps a location off the public page while staff still book into it (hide a location from booking).
Rooms and equipment are optional. You first add a resource type, a reusable category such as Treatment room, then add each Room/equipment under a facility with its type. A service that needs a type does not name a room. Booking finds any free room of that type, and the Calendar can group its columns by room. If you never add a room, nothing about booking changes.
What a service holds
Add or edit a service and you get one form for everything about the appointment:
- Name, and an optional Booking hint shown under the name on the public booking page, for telling two similar services apart.
- Duration, Buffer before and Buffer after, in minutes. A buffer keeps that time closed around the appointment when patients pick a time online.
- Treatment time, an optional figure for how much of the slot is hands-on. It never affects scheduling and only feeds superbill unit suggestions.
- Price, used to fill in a new invoice line. Changing it later never restates an invoice you have already issued.
- Offered at: which facilities offer the service, and Requires resource type if it needs a room of a kind.
- Required forms patients complete before booking, and Superbill codes the service starts with.
- A Chart template, once you have built a second chart (a chart for each service).
- Allow this service to run alongside another overlap-eligible appointment for the same provider, for things like needling and rest. Leave it off and a double-booking needs an explicit override (overlap protection).
With invoicing on, a service also gets a Payment to book setting that defaults to the practice policy (prepaid appointments). A service with no price is flagged there, because billing a completed visit would then ask for a one-time amount.
Who can be booked, and when
Under Who can be booked, each team member has a checkbox for every facility. Ticking one makes them bookable there and gives them a booking slot, so they can receive appointments right away. Until at least one person is assigned, the page warns that patients cannot find open times. Today every practitioner is assumed able to perform every service, so you cannot yet limit a provider to certain services.
Hours work in two layers. A provider follows the facility's hours until you give them their own, which is how a part-time practitioner gets different days (provider hours). The facility's weekly hours matter most for self-service: the Calendar lets staff pick any time, but the public booking page and the portal offer nothing outside open hours. On top of that, your own row can connect a personal calendar (ICS import, Google Calendar), and one-off days off are set from the Calendar.
One setup, every way in
Online booking, at the top of the same page, switches the public booking page and patient portal booking on or off for the whole practice, above all the detail below. Pausing a channel never deletes any of the setup, and the public booking page, its holds, the late-change window and time zones all read from what you set here.
