Imported visit history

Past visits from your old system show on the patient's page and count toward Last visit and care status.

Tactile editorial artwork for Visit History

A patient you saw last month in your old system shouldn't open in Goji as New, with no visits and no last visit. Once their history is in, they read as someone you know.

A Visit history panel on the patient page

When a patient has imported history, a Visit history panel with an Imported badge appears on their overview. It gives a count by outcome, such as 4 attended or 1 no-show, and lists the latest ten visits, newest first, with the day and the outcome. A patient imported from a single last-seen date shows one row labeled Last seen. If there are more than ten, the panel says it is showing the latest ten of the total. A patient with no imported history has no panel.

Labeled Imported, and read-only.

The panel is deliberately read-only, and it says so: these are from before the practice used Goji, they are not appointments and they have no chart. There is no button to add or edit a single visit by hand. History arrives through the past visits import, and an owner or admin can take a whole import back with Undo an import. Opening the panel is recorded in the access log as a view of the patient.

Where the history counts

  • Last visit in the patient roster shows the latest of your appointments and your imported history, so a patient last seen in your old system has a real date. History counts here whatever its outcome, the same way a cancelled or missed appointment does.
  • Care status treats an imported attended visit like an attended appointment. A no-show or cancelled one does not make a patient seen, which is why Status and Last visit can disagree.
  • The Visits attended filter counts imported attended visits along with attended appointments.

Dates after today stay on file but count for nothing until their day arrives.

Safe to re-run, and to take back

History is kept one row per patient, day and outcome, so uploading the same file twice adds nothing twice. A row that was already there is not claimed by the second import, so undoing the later one never removes the earlier one's visits.

Try it in your own practice.
