Add-on codes

Tick infrared or manual therapy on a superbill when you did them. Goji never adds them for you.

The chart records needling time and whether you used electro-stimulation. It doesn't record that you also warmed a shoulder under an infrared lamp or spent ten minutes on manual work, so a superbill built from the chart alone would describe only the needling.

Where it lives

Open a visit's Superbill page (the receipt icon on the appointment) and look under Procedures performed. Below the treatment minutes, Also performed this visit holds a checkbox for each add-on. It's there for every practice, with no setting to turn on.

Ticked by you, never assumed.

What you control

  • Tick a box and the code joins the table at the bottom of that section, which is what prints. Untick it and it's gone.
  • Each add-on prints as one unit. Goji doesn't suggest a count for them.
  • The tick is saved to that visit as you click, so it's still there when you come back to generate the PDF. If the save fails, the box goes back to how it was rather than showing a code that isn't on the document.
  • Manual therapy (97140) carries a caution that insurers' edits bundle it with acupuncture performed the same day. Goji shows the note and leaves the decision, which is often a per-payer question you've already answered, to you.
  • If your practice has turned on more billing codes, those show in the same section. A service can also start a visit with codes already ticked (Settings → Scheduling); change one on the visit and that becomes this visit's own choice.

Practices whose payers want modifier GP on physical-medicine codes can switch on Add modifier GP to physical-medicine codes under Settings → Billing. It applies to 97026 and 97140 among others, and it's off by default.

Cupping and moxibustion

They aren't in the list. Neither has a CPT code of its own, and Goji doesn't offer a substitute code for them. Bill them as an ordinary cash-pay line on the invoice, which then appears among the charges on the superbill. The page says so right under the checkboxes.

Try it in your own practice.
