It is the end of the day and you want the visits that still have no note, or you want to see only Sam's Thursday at the downtown clinic. A full calendar is hard to scan for the one thing you came for. The filters in the Calendar's left rail narrow it to that, and you can stack them.
What you can filter by
Each group in the rail is a section you can collapse. Status is always there. Charting is always there too. Billing shows only when invoicing is on, and the facility and provider groups show only when you have more than one of each.
- Status is about the booking itself: All statuses, Scheduled, Cancelled or Expired holds. Scheduled is the default, so cancelled visits stay out of the way until you ask. Expired holds are drawn hatched rather than in a color.
- Charting is about the note: All charting, Not started, In progress or Complete. It uses the colors from chart status on the calendar, so it is the quick way to find visits missing a note.
- Billing, with invoicing on, offers Needs attention, Not invoiced, Unpaid and Paid. It has its own post, Billing filter on the calendar.
- Facilities and Providers are checklists, not single choices. Everything starts checked, and unchecking one hides it, so two providers at once is fine.
Combining them, and what changes
Charting and Billing stack with each other and with Status, so you can ask for completed charts that still are not invoiced. Choosing a facility also narrows the provider columns to the providers assigned to it.
The filters apply to every view, Month included. Each day's appointment count in Month counts only what the filters let through, so with Charting on Not started, a day shows how many notes are still waiting.
What is in the link, and what is not
Status, facility and provider are saved in the page address along with the date and view, so a bookmark or a link to a teammate opens the same slice. The address holds the status word and internal ids for facilities and providers. It never holds a patient's name or anything from a chart.
Charting and Billing are not in the address. They are a view of the schedule already on your screen, so they apply instantly with no reload, and they start back at All charting and All billing when you open the Calendar fresh or share a link.
On a phone
There is no room for a rail, so the same filters live in a Filters sheet. Tap Filters in the bottom bar, next to Today, and the sheet holds the mini calendar and every group above. See Calendar on a phone.
