Patients look for you at 10 p.m., from your website, your profile or a text from a friend. Your booking page is the one link that can answer them, and it needs nothing from the visitor until they decide to book.
One link, with shortcuts
Your link is /book/ followed by your practice's address name. It is listed under Settings → Scheduling → Online booking as Public booking link. Open the ⋮ menu beside it to choose Share link, Open booking page, or Get this on your website, which is covered in Embed booking on your site.
Hand out the narrowest link that fits where you are posting it:
- A location link, on each location under Where appointments happen, opens the page with that location already chosen.
- A service link, under Share a specific service, skips the service picker, for a button that says Book acupuncture.
- Preview what patients see shows the page with sample times. Nothing chosen in the preview is booked or held.
What a visitor sees
The page is a single card headed by your practice's name. Visitors choose a service from cards showing its name, its length and, if you wrote one, a short Booking hint of up to 140 characters under the name. Past six services a search box appears. If a service is offered at more than one location, they also pick the location.
Next comes the date and time: a month calendar with a dot on days that have open times, and a list of times for the day you pick, in the location's time zone. If the visitor's own clock is in a different zone, the review step spells out the local time at your location. Picking a time leads to a review step, then to a short hold while they confirm, and after confirming they see the location's address and any parking or entrance notes you entered. The date step has its own post, Booking date picker.
What shows up
A service appears only if a location offers it, that location is open to public booking, and it has a bookable provider. Both the location and the provider need weekly hours, or no times will ever appear. The page picks whichever eligible provider is free for the time, so visitors don't choose one. A location can be kept off the page without touching its hours, as described in Hide a location from booking.
Booking rules, in the same Online booking section, set how far ahead visitors can book (the booking horizon) and how much minimum notice they must give. Staff-only tools stay staff-only: the page uses the same double-booking protection as the Calendar and has no override.
Pausing it, and what visitors see
The Public booking switch turns the channel off for the whole practice. Your services, locations, hours and links stay as they are, and the link shows Paused in settings. A visitor who opens it reads that online booking is paused and to contact you directly. Turning a single location off shows Facility closed on its link instead. If nothing is bookable yet, the page says online booking isn't set up yet. The setup list beside the settings shows Ready to share once public booking is on and you have a location, a service and a bookable provider.
After someone books
The appointment goes on your calendar with an Online booking badge, and New online bookings holds it until you match it to a patient. By default the visitor creates an account to confirm, see Account to confirm. You can also watch the whole flow in Try online booking in your browser.
